Are you a light to yourself? Can you look up to yourself? Are you, your own role model? Or, are you constantly looking up to others? Is your life spent on modeling others?
When you try to model others, you merely copy the image – your perception – you have about the other. All images are abstractions, and, all abstractions are an escape from the fact. Your perception is not the reality.
In the process of modeling others you not only negate your authentic self, but you also try to live the image you have perceived about the other, which further causes internal conflicts and tension within you.
What does it take to be your own role model, to look up to yourself?
There are no short cuts to being your own role model. You start by observing your own self. It is a deliberate, precise and sustained practice, and in committing to it, you start unearthing details about yourself that you are not even aware of.
To be your own role model, requires you to be deeply centered from inside – with an internal locus of control – and be in a state of allowing the unfolding of your REAL self, by peeling away the multitude of masks behind which you are currently hiding your authentic and REAL self.
When you are your own role model, all dichotomies within yourself are dissolved, and your life’s purpose finds you. You become whole and conflicts become non-existent. The artificial boundary between your life and work melts and you find the root cause of work-life balance conundrum to be within you rather than outside of you.
When you are your very own role model, you are led from within, and all external things lose control over you. You experience “flow” and “being in the zone”, and your sense of self-worth remains intact despite external perturbations.
You have the power to choose between living an authentic life, or, continue living a lie.
