LABOR OF LOVE

Teachers do not teach subjects. The school, the college, the classrooms, and the subjects are only the mediums through which the teachers and students engage with each other.

Committed, inspired, and passionate teachers engage with their pure essence of unconditional LOVE to transform the consciousness of the students and themselves through the process of teaching. Teaching, then, becomes their labor of love.

Teachers take ownership of and responsibility for their lives and make themselves an example for the students to learn from. Teachers sow seeds of prosperity and eliminate the weeds of misery in their own minds to allow only prosperous thoughts to pollinate the minds of their students. Teachers are inspired from within and help their students to discover their own inspiration.

Teachers are life-long-learners and believe in the intrinsic capacity of the humans to learn themselves. Teachers as learners create the conditions for personal transformation and learning to happen naturally.

Teachers are the ultimate healers. They believe that the true purpose of education is to help humans become fully-functioning individuals. They know intuitively that to become fully-functioning, we have to heal ourselves of the wounds – the innumerable wounds inflicted upon our psyche through the process of manifesting in this physical form and growing up. Teachers as healers heal themselves first, and help the students under their care to heal, thus enabling the students lay the necessary foundation upon which they can build their very own cathedrals.

My heartfelt gratitude to all the committed, inspired and passionate teachers in the world – past, present and future – who are transforming and shaping the lives of individuals to be caring, kind and good humans.  “Labor of Love” is a short poem, an expression of gratitude to all the teachers.
